Great Literacy Resource

Although I don't have a little one yet (due any day), I really look forward to reading books to him once he arrives. We all know the wonderful benefits of reading to and with children. You can never start too young! Plus, it's great fun for parents as we get to re-live our childhoods. I've been on the lookout for any children's books recommendations/resources I could find. Today I found a good one I thought I would share. It's called Literacy Lava. It's a free online newsletter that provides all sorts of great tips for children's literature, reading tips, and activities. This is the first issue but I have a feeling it's going to be a hit. It's created by a group of literacy-savvy moms (including a few teachers and librarians in training). Take a look and I'm sure you'll see how useful it is. Thanks to The Almost Librarian for pointing out this great resource.
